AT&T has the iPad. Now T-Mobile has the HTC HD2. In a surprising move, T-Mobile on Tuesday launched its anticipated big-screen smartphone with a focus on e-books and movie rentals. "The HD2 will be T-Mobile's first entertainment device," said Brenda Fisher, marketing product innovation manager for T-Mobile. The HD2, as it's known to most of the world, is probably the best Windows Mobile 6.5 phone ever. It has a gigantic 4.3-inch, 800-by-480 capacitive multi-touch screen, it runs a 1-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, it's thin, and it mostly papers over Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 interface with an attractive series of panels HTC calls TouchFlo 3D.
